As you know, MetaChess players have many ways to earn SHAH tokens, including compete-to-earn. In addition to online tournaments, players can compete against each other and AI at any time. Players can also organize a tournament and invite participants.

While we’ve spent much time covering what you can do online in our chess metaverse, you also may have read that MetaChess will host offline tournaments too. Offline events will be a key part of our chess platform. They’ll help:

  • Bring our community closer together
  • Provide new earning opportunities to members
  • Offer fun and entertainment
  • Power business and personal connections.

In this article, we’ll cover all you need to know about our offline meetups, and what to expect in 2022 with in-person events.

We’ve Already Hosted the 1st MetaChess Offline Chess Tournament

Did you know that we already held a successful offline event?

In September 2021, MetaChess held its first offline chess tournament in Nigeria. For the event, seven of the best junior chess players in Nigeria were invited to play against the Business and Marketing Lead of MetaChess, Jonathan Oyelabi.

All players enjoyed fully funded accommodation, including breakfast and lunch provided for the duration of the tournament (5 nights and 5 days).

The winner of the tournament was Okeke Isaac(17 years old). For the prize, Isaac got the honor to represent Nigeria at the Africa Youth Chess Championship in Ghana. He was given an all-expenses-paid trip to attend.

Okeke Isaac won the 2021 African Youth Chess Championships — U18 Open in Accra, Ghana, earning his International Master title. He also later got a chance to play against the top players during the Nigeria National Chess Championships in Lagos.

Olisa Tennyson (17 years old) was the second player to receive a prize, getting an all-expenses-paid trip to attend the Africa Junior Chess Championships in Liberia and also represent Nigeria.

Other players received cash prizes after the closing ceremony.

Overall, our first offline event was a big success and a great way for MetaChess to support youth chess players in Nigeria. We plan to do much more to support youth chess players in Nigeria and around the world this year.

What’s Next for MetaChess Offline Events

This is just the beginning of the offline chess tournaments. There are plenty more yet to come across the world.

MetaChess is planning to conduct the next offline chess tournament in Europe or the USA. The prize will be more than anything we’ve ever offered before, and we definitely would have some grand masters in attendance.

So, stay tuned and keep an eye on the MetaChess website and social media channels to know more about the next offline tournament. Chances are it will be held in a major city, but we’ll have the details soon.

How to Participate in MetaChess Offline Tournaments

Perhaps the most difficult thing is making sure you have time availability and can get to the event. We’ll announce events well ahead of time so you can plan accordingly.

Other than that, participating in these offline chess tournaments is not difficult. You just need to be a holder of $SHAH tokens. It’s that simple! Just holding $SHAH tokens is your gateway to win lucrative prizes.

Offline Tournaments Have Immense Value

We live in a digitally connected world where almost everything is online but we can’t negate the fact that ‘humans are social animals’. MetaChess offline events are not only about conducting chess competitions, but also about making connections and building your network.

Just think of the possibilities! At a MetaChess offline event, you could:

  • Meet another entrepreneur and begin a business venture together
  • Find about job opportunities at another player’s business
  • Make lifelong friends and chess playing partners
  • Meet a potential boyfriend/girlfriend/partner!
  • Win enough SHAH tokens to pay next month’s mortgage or rent!
  • Have the time of your life

As you can see, MetaChess offline events are about much more than chess. They’re about building community and bringing us all together. Because when we’re all together, great things can happen!

About MetaChess:

MetaChess is the first 3D multiplayer play-to-earn (P2E) and NFT metaverse chess game. The platform is in 2D and 3D. The 3D version will be divided into two. The first part is the regular chess game, with traditional chess pieces in 3D. The second part is more animated and fancy. It consists of chess pieces in the form of humanoid characters. You can own NFTs (unique chess pieces) which will be used in the game. The platform also has play-to-earn (P2E) models that make it worth players’ time. The 2D version is currently playable. You can either play with AI or play with another user.
