While we liked being Brainiac, we’re bringing chess to the blockchain and metaverse. Considering the direction of crypto, now’s the perfect time for the name. MetaChess makes perfect sense for us.

It’s All About That Metaverse!
The metaverse is the next major tech platform, with Bloomberg analysts predicting it will be a $800 billion market by 2024. The early movers in this space will position themselves best to win a slice of the massive metaverse pie.
At MetaChess, formerly BraniacChess, we’re building the chess metaverse first and we’re making that known with our rebranding. We plan to become the top metaverse destination for all things chess.
In a previous article, we wrote about how we’re giving the world’s oldest game a facelift. As we stated, Metachess, formerly BrainiacChess, is more than an online chess game. We’re building a completely immersive chess experience.
While we do honor traditional gameplay and sportsmanship, MetaChess is also a play-to-earn (P2E) and NFT metaverse chess game. You can win tokens by playing in tournaments, trade exclusive chess pieces as NFTs, and engage with other players in the metaverse.
What’s Next for MetaChess
Rebranding as MetaChess was the perfect idea.
First, the name highlights our mission and vision better: We’re taking ancient chess to a thrilling future. You should be able to perceive that vision just by seeing our name and logo.
Second, taking chess into the metaverse expands the possibilities for the game. From incorporating exciting storylines and unique NFTs to play-to-earn and learn-to-earn games, there’s no limit on the features you could find in MetaChess. You can even mint your own NFTs on the platform.
Third, going all-in on the metaverse enables us to explore all the opportunities of this reality. For instance, we’re traditional chess lovers, but an immersive 3D environment allows for so much more activity. What if each game had actual war-like battles?

About MetaChess:
MetaChess is the first 3D multiplayer play-to-earn (P2E) and NFT metaverse chess game. The platform is in 2D and 3D. The 3D version will be divided into two. The first part is the regular chess game, with traditional chess pieces in 3D. The second part is more animated and fancy. It consists of chess pieces in the form of humanoid characters. You can own NFTs (unique chess pieces) which will be used in the game. The platform also has play-to-earn (P2E) models that make it worth players’ time. The 2D version is currently playable. You can either play with AI or play with another user.
