Introduction

Let’s start with some stats. The average internet user now spends almost 7 hours per day, equating to more than 48 hours per week online — that’s a full two days out of a seven-day week. The world’s internet users will spend almost 12 trillion hours online this year, which translates to more than 1.3 billion years of combined human time. In the past two years, this trend has been growing. The COVID-19 pandemic also contributes to the increase in the amount of time we spend online.

Virtual & online reality is becoming more interesting and sometimes more appealing to us than our real lives. You may not realise it yet, but we are gradually moving into the Metaverse. Have you ever played online games and dreamed of not only choosing your avatar, but becoming one? This is what awaits you. The Metaverse is a “second world” in which you and your friends, via avatars, will attend parties, concerts, play games, watch movies — you will all be living your lives, but in virtual reality.

Our goal at MetaFabric is for you to be the owner of your Metaverse identity, items and communications. That’s why we’re releasing Metaverse ID — your own Metaverse identifier, which allows you to hide your personal data behind it and decide who you share it with.

Metaverse ID by MetaFabric

In your daily life you use your ID or other forms of identification (such as your name or email) to prove your identity and function in a social space. In the past we used emails, Twitter or Instagram handles for presenting our online identity. Things have changed and that’s why we are launching Metaverse ID, your unique identifier which will allow you to easily communicate with others in the Metaverse, while retaining your privacy.

With your Metaverse ID you are be able to store your avatar, multiple crypto wallets, any personal data you decide to store with it, your preferences and other assets. And it will be up to you what part of this information you’d like to share with a specific service that integrates with our platform.

How does it work?

Metaverse ID is an NFT minted on the Ethereum blockchain. Initially it contains your unique handle i.e. @joe. It is resellable on Opensea and Looksrare.

It is available to mint on our main https://metafabric.io website.

Metaverse IDs will support emojis at some point so you’ll be able to be called for example @i❤️gaming.

Every Metaverse ID owner gets a unique web address which, when visited, presents their crypto communities, NFTs and other selected assets i.e. https://fabriclord.met.id. You can of course set this address as your handle on Twitter or any other platform.

Any other data you choose to store with it such as your wallets, selected avatar, preferences, email is stored on our servers and private to you only. They can be shared according to your preferences with any integrated apps you choose to share your data with.

Eventually we aim to store all information on the blockchain or other decentralised means of data storage. Right now the goal is to enter the market as fast as possible, and to make it as simple and inexpensive for the users as possible.

Metaverse ID pricing

Metaverse IDs are available for an ETH fee. Eventually we’d like the ID to also be available with a credit card purchase to people who don’t yet use crypto wallets but would like to park an ID with us until they do.

Metaverse ID is available for a one time fee. You will not need to renew it. Once you get one it’s yours forever. There is also no limit on how many you can mint.
