Detailed Guide on How to Transfer a non-Metamask Wallet to Metamask
As you may already know, our staking platform only supports Metamask wallets as of now. And initially, Metahuts and Land Plots whitelist and public sales will be available for Metamask wallets only. Thus we’ve decided to write detailed instructions for our non-Metamask community members on how they can transfer their non-Metamask wallet to Metamask and participate in both staking and upcoming Metahut and Land Plots sales.This blog will be divided into 2 sections: for those who don’t have a Metamask account and for those who already have one.
If you don’t have a Metamask Wallet
If this is your first time downloading and creating a Metamask wallet, then all you’ll need is just your recovery phase from your current wallet.
- First, get your recovery/seed phrase (usually it’s a combination of words) from your current wallet (google how you can do that, it’s pretty simple) and copy it.
- Then go to: https://metamask.io and download the Metamask browser extension.
- Now you need to open Metamask, click on “Get Started” on the welcoming page and click on “Import Wallet”.
4. The new window will open asking you to paste your recovery phrase there. Select the number of words in your recovery phrase (in this case it’s 12). Paste your recovery phrase to the corresponding fields, create a new password, read the terms of use and check the box if you agree and click “Import”.
5. Done! Now you can use your same wallet address through Metamask and participate in Land Plots and Metahuts whitelist sale!
If you have a Metamask Wallet
If you already have a Metamask wallet, then you will need to import a new one using the private key from your current wallet (the one you entered in the whitelisting form). Each wallet has its own way of acquiring the private keys, in this example we will cover how you can do that on Trust Wallet, as it’s the most commonly used one.
6. As the Trust Wallet doesn’t provide you with the private key directly (majority of the other wallets do), you’ll need to convert your 12-word recovery phrase into the private key manually.
7. First, get your 12-word recovery phrase from the Trust Wallet (google how you can do that it’s pretty simple)
8. Then go to: https://iancoleman.io/bip39/ and paste your 12-word recovery phrase to the ”BIP39 Mnemonic” section (you’re not supposed to enter the words in the image below, you should paste your own recovery phrase).
9. Below you’ll see the field called “Coin”, by default it should show “BTC — Bitcoin ‘’ as the selected option. Click on it and change it to “BSC — Binance Smart Chain” as shown in the image below.
10. Scroll down a bit and you’ll see a Table section with Path, Address, Public Key and Private Key as shown in the image below.
11. From that table, you need to copy the private key (random combination of numbers and letters) that’s written under the “Private Key” tab and is on the same line as your BSC (Binance Smart Chain) wallet address under the “Address” tab. Your BSC wallet address is a regular public wallet address that you use to send and receive BEP20 tokens/coin. The BSC address of the wallet created for this example is: 0x9bbc7A64d9b50A86f9E9bb45AB93785356208a8A, consequently the according private key is: 0xd1ecc773c7dc2a8a4d44965f0b85679605ac37e587454f521d628374c3724e23, refer to the image below for details.
12. Now you need to open Metamask, click on the account icon (circle marked with rectangle) and click on “Import Account”.
13. The new window will open asking you to paste your private key there. Paste your private key to the corresponding field and click “Import”.
14. Done! Now you can use your same wallet address through Metamask and participate in Land Plots and Metahuts whitelist sale!
