Metalurg Lions FC have today announced the signing of former inaugural midfielder David Jovanovski.

Jovanovski who starred in the first three seasons with Metalurg Lions, will be making his return as a fill in player after overcoming a niggling hamstring injury. The call up came after season long negotiations however a playing agreement was finally reached between Jovanovski and the club, with the love of the game and the playing group the driving force behind Jovanovski’s return. Jovanovski couldn’t contain his excitement by saying ‘Scenes it is! The thought of coming back as a fill in excites me! Ace’s presence at the front of my house yesterday was astonishing! Unbelievable and just simply wow!’

The Metalurg family welcomes the signing in what is a massive boost to the club who narrowly missed out on the Grand Final last season. Team mate Miki Paunkoski was thrilled with the news, expressing that ‘David will bring stability and experience the squad and he is a valuable addition’.

David Jovanovski will remain in the number 7 jersey and could be expected to make his return as early as this Sunday.

We would like to wish Jovanovski the best of luck on his return to the club!
