Art & Transparency | Ugly Bros NFT
The NFT space is evolving at a rapid rate. Many collections are dropping every week. Staying up to date requires the same dedication as classic Crypto trading. All that goes out the window when you come across awe-inspiring art. It’s undeniable; the first point of reference to a project’s inspiration.
That was the first factor of appeal when I came across Ugly Bros NFT.
The art is vibrant, textured and, unique. It reminded me of Gumby, a childhood cartoon that may never get its flowers. The correlation between Gumby and Ugly Bros isn’t straightforward. I am not suggesting they have similar art styles. I’m referring to the similarity in my response. These Ugly Bros are just as alive as Gumby once was. They look like they move, talk, dance, and possibly, produce beats. Ugly Bros has released the most interactive previews in a still image I have seen in a long time.
Sergio, a business owner of Dominican heritage who played in a rock band as a kid, teamed up with Dan Rojas to provide us with the Ugly Bros collection(s). Dan is a 3d animator out of Toronto with a background in illustration and graphic design. The founders have a personal background that dates back to their younger years. They have been waiting for the right project to tackle together. Ugly Bros is the result of their partnership. Both founders are very down-to-earth. Sergio is always in the discord group involved with the community and focused on organization. Dan has emphasized his desire to keep growing the project organically. They have surprises for supporters throughout the Ugly Journey. They have mastered the art of being with the community and not spoiling what’s to come to the Ugly Fam. We have seen sneak peeks of art, music, and we keep hearing about 20 motion graphics that will blow us away upon the release. The excitement of where this project can go along with the community support is a direct byproduct of what Sergio & Dan have created together. Good job!
Let’s get into some specifics:
The roadmap starts in Q4, of 2021, known as Season 1. It details the development of the Ugly Bros official website, Original Mint launch, and slides into growing the Ugly Bros team.
Season two outlines the beginning of 2022 by focusing on customizations and a stake pool.
Season three alludes to Ugly Places. A new collection, possibly?
Season four has one focus; music artist collaborations.
Season five dates to Q4 2022 includes cosplay, Ugly Bros video series, and Royalties for holders.
Every step of this 1-year roadmap includes community involvement. Being an Ugly Bros NFT holders grants access to polls, feedback, and discussions about future collections.
With the launch date around the corner on November 15th, the team’s focus is executing their minting process for OG supporters and newer supporters. They have collaborated with the discord community since day one and intend to keep the same energy along the way.
Overall, at 40 ADA mint cost, Ugly Bros has an infinite amount of potential. The team’s dedication, transparency, and involvement with the community are a huge plus. I love the artwork and how the creativity oozes out as they release music snippets and collaborate on future ideas with the Ugly Fam. The roadmap rollout was organic and has been feasible throughout. It’s been fun already, to think that a beautiful journey is in the hands of a project called Ugly Bros sounds just right.
As always, do your own research. This is not financial advice.

Two questions w/Ugly Founder:
Why Cardano?
Sergio: “The Cardano Blockchain made it possible for Daniel and me to work together. I discovered Cardano back in 2018. What was different about the blockchain was that it was not a rushed project. It focused on peer review-based methods to construct the actual blockchain. Which at the time, no other blockchain company was doing this.
When Cardano launched smart contracts, I knew the time was now to start working on the NFT project with Daniel. Cardano also provide affordable rates for transactions fees versus the ones in the ETH network which are unpredictable at times.”
Why Ugly Bros?
Sergio: “Initially, we wanted to create a marketing agency. However, because of the boom of NFT’s, we realized that we could express ourselves more uniquely, allowing our creativity to run.
We have always believed that the same way art is subjective, ugly is subjective. This is the reason why we created this collection. To make uncomfortable 3D illustrations that blend nicely together.”
Be sure to check out the Ugly Bros YouTube channel for more information on the founders, and their carefully crafted project.
