Lego Set 02 — Black Hawk (Nova)

Let’s continue our tour across the Lego BattleTech-based sets. Today I bring you the Nova, known in the Inner Sphere as a Black Hawk. A compact Clanner design, it has always been one of my favorite BattleMechs. Although centuries old, this machine was still light-years ahead of anything the Inner Sphere had — a medium ‘Mech with the firepower of a heavy, or some assault units.

Lego-wise, this is a relatively simple design, which does not use many parts, and those that it does use are commonly available. I based my model on the Mechwarrior 2 iteration, so it has no waist to speak of. It's a quirky little model that is wider than it is tall.

This model is somewhat poseable, as you can move the arms and legs back and forth. The legs have 3 articulation points and the arms 2. I’d say that it can be a bit unstable on a table, so the use of a base would be advisable.
