Warship Build 16 — Suffren Destroyer
This is a model that I have wanted to make for a long while now. While the original art is lacking, like most older warship designs from BattleTech, the Delranes redesign is just amazing. Thus, here is the re-imagined Suffren.
After soundly defeating the Clans in Tukayyid, ComStar decided that there was a need to update its armed forces. The Suffren was part of a program to bring forth new warships, given that most of ComStar’s fleet was comprised of Star League vintage ships, much like their Clanner counterparts.
In the end, only two Suffrens were officially completed. Upgrading existing ships was cheaper, and the rise of the Word of Blake disrupted the modernization efforts.
The model here has 51 parts, plus the base. I’m really happy with it. Maybe I could have made one or two things differently, but I think it does look quite neat. It is in ComStar colors, but you can make it in whatever colors you fancy.
