Dr. Masaaki Hatsumi is the Grandmaster of the nine martial arts schools who founded the Bujinkan martial arts organisation. There are total nine schools in Bujinkan where three of the nine schools are Ninjutsu Schools. The remaining six are different ancient martial art traditions which have been passed down from the past.

So, what is ninjutsu?

Ninjutsu is the ancient martial art system of Japan’s ninja shadow warriors. It is a complete fighting system which is helping the students to develop physical, mental and spiritual aspects of working as a unit in tough situations. Ninjutsu covers claw locks, ground fighting, throws, multiple attracts and modern weaponry.
The meaning of ninjutsu is not so easy to translate. In simple words, “Nin” means perseverance, patience, and endurance and “Jutsu” means “techniques”. In broader aspects, ninjutsu is the technics of controling body, mind and heart and the ability to react properly in the worst situation. If you are learning Bujinkan Ninjutsu, you are learning things that pertain to survival, recon, camo, etc. The Bujinkan is effective to only those able to exercise true patience, self-control, and dedication.

Why Learn Bujinkan Ninjutsu?

As mentioned before, there are three schools in ninjutsu. Here are the reasons to learn these three techniques.

  1. Togakure Ryu is the first schools of ninjutsu known as “School of hidden door”. The technic is all about avoiding the violence and use the weapons to be peaceful, and protect country, family and nature. It taught us to take the proper decision in the worst situation. We always lose our control and concentration in a tough situation and make the wrong choices. This training method will help to develop a mental state which helps to understand the situation rightly.
  2. Kumogakure Ryu is another ninjutsu school, and the main theme of this training method is developing the outdoor skills like high jumping, climbing, fire lighting in wet weather and others. Those are the most important skills which decide the winner in the battle zone. Those are skills which can help us to handle the disaster also to stay in tip-top condition. Practising on a regular basis will help to become a master of these.
  3. Gyokushin Ryu is the third schools and the main training system is called espionage means spying. It also thought about the hand to hand combat, which is the most important self-defence technics in recent time. In the current situation, most of the time we have to fight without weapons. For that, we have to prepare our self to handle face to face fight. This technique will help us to develop the nature by which we can fight for us.

Today it’s very challenging to deal with criminals, rowdy bar patrons, and sudden attackers. Proper preparation will give you a chance to deal with these types of situation. The Bujinkan Ninjutsu training program has these training methods in their manual which will help you to win the fight and go home safely.

Word from- Masaaki Hatsumi

“The head is just another part of the body, and we must learn to overcome the tendency to make distinction between the brain and the other internal organs of the body. The body knows how to move if we let it, and it does not require active mental control to respond properly in a threatening situation.”
