Hi, my name is Marisa. In my family I have my mom, dad, sister and me. My sister, Isabella, is currently living in Colorado which is both of our favorite state to visit. Outside of school, I work at an animal hospital and get to play and take care of lots of dogs and cats. When I’m at home I’m usually chilling with my French bulldog, Hurley, or chameleon, Yoshi. My hobbies include watching a whole series on Netflix in a few days, petting every dog I see, and hanging out with friends. I look forward to going to college because I want to see what it’s like to live away from home and do my own thing. I don’t really know what I want to do when I’m older but I hope it’s fun!!

Important Song

The song Colours, by Grouplove means something to me because the overall message is really positive and puts me in a good mood. It also reminds me of my sister because she played it all the time when she was home.

Friday Night

This is a picture of me on Friday night. Some of my friends and I went to a drive-in movie to see Annabelle. Horror movies are our favorite to see together.

Dream of mine

A dream of mine is to go to Thailand. Every picture I’ve seen from there is beautiful, and my trip would have to include riding an elephant because they are my favorite animal. Also Buddhism really interests me and seeing a real Buddhist temple would be really cool.

People Who Inspire Me

The first and foremost person who inspires me is my Nonna. She passed away a few years ago due to cancer, but still is the strongest lady I know. My Nonna taught me so much about life no one else could teach me.

The second person who inspires me is Rupi Kaur. She is the creator of a book called milk and honey, which is a short poetry book. Her raw and eye opening writing is very inspirational.

The last person who is an inspiration to me is my best friend Emily. We somehow started Skyping each other in elementary school and have been close ever since. She inspires me because she has such a positive outlook on life. No matter what, Emily is like family to me.

Perception about life in America

I believe fast food is a big part of what it’s like to be an American. As gross as it can be, majority of Americans choose to eat these fast foods and that is how we are perceived by other countries.

The amount of freedom we get as a country I think we sometimes take for granted. We don’t always realize how lucky we are.

Lastly, I think life in America is about doing things that make you happy, or just doing something for fun. I used Lollapalooza as an example because it brings all sorts of people together to have a good time.
