A Painful Question of the Day
Nicole Dieker

My father, a very imprudent man, once told me in all seriousness that the only money that “was real” was the cash in your pocket. “Checks, credit cards-that’s not real.” Sadly, he meant it. Hence, a life of unpaid bills, bounced checks, and over-extended credit cards. A deep and rich source for today’s amusing stories, but a very unsettled life for a child.
