Passionate Milennials and the Government

Every passionate milennial should at least consider a job in the government.

See I am qualifying milennials here, not just any other milennial but those who are passionate enough.

Those who believe that they can at least do something about things and make it better not worse.

I am working for the government because I have to. I never really wanted it but it was rather an easy choice, so a typical YOLO. I am not saying my stay is perfect but it is pleasant. Everyone in the office, even my bosses, are basically my friends. So staying is easy while I do the job I was hired to do.

Though I am surrounded by friends, it cannot be avoided that some people from other sectors come into your office and unknowingly ruin your day because they’re not having the same virtues/principles/attitudes or whatever with you.

Staying long makes you see holes in the system. It’s kind of everybody’s fault. Even mine, I admit.

To be honest, it’s a hard battle so I am not starting a war. Instead I am trying to do a positive action of influencing people. Of trying to make them see logically and eventually make the right decision. Offer opportunities for growth.

It is a good thing that I am older than some of my peers because it establishes respect even before I speak but I know for a fact that I cannot abuse that. It is a good thing that I am already in the journey of knowing myself before I even start working for the government. It made me reject my own negative reactions to things that are happening and are not within my control.

My reaction, still not perfect but it is controllable at least.

So what am I saying really here is that, people especially milennials when passionate can do a lot of things without shedding blood. We are the future and we may not like the system but that is something normal.

We don’t even like ourselves sometimes so how much more for a system designed for the general people and not for individuals.

I know normal does not make things right. The remedy? It is by helping and influencing people from the inside. Thereby creating ripples that will eventually turn the tides.

People think the solution is by changing their leaders. We are so naive to think that one man/woman can change our country. We overestimate their power and underestimate ours.

So if you are a passionate milennial, consider a job in the government. Try to influence people. You don’t have to stay. Just try to be the stone that creates the ripples.
