It’s important to understand and appreciate that gender, gender traits, gender roles, etc. are all socially constructed. It’s also important to provide space for people whose identities illustrate this fact. And, it’s equally important to recognize that sexism is a huge, pervasive force. I would argue that the fact that the word lesbian is so hated is a form of misogyny. I applaud your decision.
