The two-party system is still a mathematical consequence of this country’s electoral structure. Third parties are still just pretend politics. The only way for progressives to win elections and power is still by running candidates in Democratic primaries and running hard enough to overcome the opposition (and its dirty tricks). It still won’t be easy. But the third party route is still so much harder that it is actually impossible.
