I obviously take a birthday way more seriously than you. Anything less than a national holiday and I can feel the waves of disappointment. Haha. Although I understand what you are saying.

Why do we need countless individuals that wouldn’t of cared about our birthday if not for Facebook existing wishing us a happy birthday? Shouldn’t it be enough to just get the attention from those that should perhaps know it is your birthday without a silly Facebook reminder?

Perhaps I’ll try this tactic for next year, but as my birthday comes closer, I’ll take another opportunity to be showered with attention, even if it comes with the caveat of a manipulatively placed reminder.
