I couldn’t agree more. I find it disconcerting that studies have found fewer kindergarten students know how to use a pencil on school entry than 10 years ago. When I was a kid waiting to see the pediatrician, I used to look forward to the Crossword puzzle, finding hidden animals and coloring in the Highlights magazine. Now my pediatric patients (and parents) are busy poking a finger at a device.
