King Von’s music cemented him firmly into Chicago’s drill lineage. His lyrics included local references and hyper-local affirmations while his production typically relied upon dark piano tones and hard drum hits.

Grandson Vol 1 and Levon James gained him popularity among hip hop listeners until an incident outside an Atlanta nightclub led to his untimely demise.

Crazy Story

Born Dayvon Bennett in Chicago’s crime-ridden O Block neighborhood, Von first began rapping professionally in 2018 after his fluid story-telling style caught the ear of Lil Durk of Only the Family collective. “Crazy Story,” an Only the Family single from 2018, propelled Von’s career forward and brought him wider exposure. By March of 2021 he released Grandson Vol 1 as well as Welcome To O Block studio album that October. On November 6 2020 Von was fatally shot outside an Atlanta nightclub at 26; however his loved ones and fans continue to uphold and prioritize his positive legacy.

2022 saw the release of a documentary on him.

Trust Issues

King von autopsy was an outstanding young lyricist in drill music’s drill music scene. His lyrics reflected vivid imagery from the rough neighborhood he grew up in — Parkway Gardens (O’Block) — which helped repopularize personal storytelling through hip hop music.

After his 2018 single “Crazy Story” garnered him some notice, he was signed to Lil Durk’s Only the Family label. From there on out, his success has continued in 2019 and 2020 with mixtapes such as Grandson Vol. 1 and Levon James; plus his debut album Welcome to O’Block just this past week!

Lil Durk, Polo G, NLE Choppa, Fivio Foreign and more have made contributions to this 26-year-old artist’s project, further cementing his rising status in the game. Additionally, “Trust Issues”, his recently released video featuring Yungeen Ace (directed by DrewFilmedIt) serves as an ode to R. Kelly’s iconic “Same Girl”. Take a look below!

Yungeen Ace

Born Keyanta Bullard in Chicago’s O Block neighborhood, Yungeen Ace turned to music as an escape from his challenging upbringing and quickly found success with it — eventually landing him a place on Lil Durk’s Only the Family collective.

Grandson Vol. 1 was released in September 2021 and featured Lil Durk as one of its special guests. Following this up with Step Harder featuring Boosie Badazz and NLE Choppa among many others, his style continued.

Lore Ross of Trap Lore fame has claimed that Yungeen Ace is responsible for killing 10 or more individuals and called him “rap’s first serial killer.” Ace denies these claims and maintains he has never been charged with any crimes; currently co-running YouTube couples channel Ace and Chloe with his partner which boasts 858k+ subscribers featuring challenge, Q&A, vlog videos.

Lil Durk

Lil Durk faced many hardships as a child and is likely why he finds it hard to express his emotions openly. His insecurity could make him appear haughty or arrogant, discouraging others from approaching him with warmth and affection.

He was an active member of the Black Disciples street gang and an emerging star on the hip-hop scene, often returning home to his Parkway Gardens neighborhood in Chicago with wads of cash to give to struggling families and children in his community.

King Von died on November 6, 2020 during a gunfight outside an Atlanta nightclub as the result of his feud with another rapper, Quando Rondo. A documentary called King Von: Rap’s First Serial Killer suggests that King Von was responsible for as many as 10 murders prior to his death and links him with several more murders; Trap Lore Ross has used social media posts, lyrics, and other evidence against King Von in multiple alleged killings involving various murder victims.
