In 2004, 3XN was awarded the prestigious task of performing the renovation and extensions of the Concert Hall in Tivoli, the famous old Copenhagen amusement garden in København, Denmark. The hall built in 1956 and become the largest and most modern in the city. The architects design a new circular foyer into three floors with lounge, bar, views of Tivoli and café with outdoor seating. The foyer is light and transparent and designed as a timeless counterpart to Tivoli’s famous pavilion architecture. White lacquered, twisted aluminum fins form a facade that captures and reflects the sun, and the Tivoli many lights in the evening. The renovation of the concert hall was imperative to sanctuary both mood and spirit. The Chamber meets modern requirements and improvements to the existing conditions for acoustics, stage area, orchestra area, and disabled accessibility. The facade has white lacquered, twisted aluminum fins that catch and reflect the sun and flashes as the Tivoli many lights in the evening. A 30-meter long aquarium is quite spectacular attraction in the hall during the concert hall.
