The funny thing is, it was only a few years ago that publishers were throwing their lot in with Facebook and a lot of smart people were warning them that once they give away control of distribution, they’ll only have themselves to blame if things go south. It was a good (maybe desperate) try, but it’s hard to say they couldn’t have seen this coming.
