This might not be the typical Medium post — but it is super important and very urgent.

My friend Paul Chamberlain is a Water Rescue specialist. He is out on a ship run by MOAS — helping to patrol the Aegean sea looking for migrant/refugee boats that may be in distress.

MOAS is an NGO based out of Malta with a small group of paid staff but most search and rescues is done by trained volunteers like Paul.

Throughout this ongoing migrants disaster, I’ve felt powerless and removed from the deaths and the chaos. The news only reports the most sensational losses of life. The child washed up on the beach or 500 people dying in one incident.

Paul, MOAS and others deal with the daily tragedies that don’t make the news.

I don’t want to feel powerless and I don’t want you to feel powerless. Give money now to help Paul and MOAS keep saving these innocent lives.

Funny, for me being here and working with the others and doing the job is the easy bit….. convincing people to support and pledge has been the hard bit

- Paul

You may not be the person who has to dive into cold, dark seas to save people and potentially have someone die because you couldn’t get there quickly enough. You can be the person who simply has to enter a 16 digit card number, pledge some money and help make it easy for Paul and his colleagues to do their work.

Please, go here:

Make a pledge and share this post far and wide. He has 5 days left on the funding project — please let’s help him reach it.

Thanks.
