This excerpt to me, is very important. Our parents always would and still will complain to us about this generations “addiction” to social media, the Internet, our phones. But they don’t know what the power of a Instagram post about the refugees struggling to get approved to come to the U.S or another safe country to seek refuge in. The power of a Facebook message asking for help to find warm clothing for their children. What our parents never knew or understood is that our “addiction” to the Internet is not just a “time waster”, or “stupid”. It can save the struggling family trying to give their son the surgery he needs to live. It can give a refugee a sense of safety and hope. It’s not just for posting our meal from a fancy restaurant.
