From exceptional scores in rate of aging and VO2 max to concerning body fat levels, and a mix of bloodwork markers, here’s my latest personal biometric health data.

Cultivating vitality, one measurement at a timeillustrated with illious.ai.

I’ve received my results from the latest round of biometric tests. This write-up is data-focused. For more on the motivations behind my health and longevity pursuits, check out this related article:

The tests covered below include: DunedinPace, VO2 Max, DEXA scan, blood panel, and Oura ring data.

Let’s dive in.

DunedinPace Rate of Aging Test

“DunedinPACE is associated with chronic disease morbidity and mortality. Within 7 years from testing, those with a faster pace of aging face a 56% increased risk of death and a 54% increased risk for diagnosis of a chronic disease.” [Results Report]

Lower scores are better.

My Scores

  • Feb 2023: 0.65
  • Apr 2024: 0.69
My score in relationship to all scores.

The good: Both of my results are exceptionally good. The lowest score I’ve seen published on https://rejuvenationolympics.com/ is 0.665. My results surpass any biohacker or longevity practitioner that I’m aware of. I’m the green dot in the graph above, near the bottom edge of all known results.

The bad: My results have slightly worsened over the past year.
Q4 Target: 0.65

VO2 Max

“Cardiorespiratory fitness, as measured by maximal oxygen uptake (VO2max), is related to functional capacity and human performance and has been shown to be a strong and independent predictor of all-cause and disease-specific mortality.” [https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/29293447/]

My Score

April 2024: 52.2

The good: My score falls into the elite category based on the paper and above.

The bad: The world record is around 96.7. I don’t expect to reach that level in this lifetime.
Q4 Target: 57

DEXA Scan

“After adjustment for multiple potential confounding factors, every one-unit increase in BMI was associated with a 12% reduction in the odds of healthy survival (95% CI 10–14%). Compared with lean women (BMI 18.5–22.9), obese women (BMI ≥ 30) had 79% lower odds of healthy survival to the age of ≥70 (95% CI 71–85%).” [https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4032609]

My Score

April 2024: Total Body Fat 27% (50th percentile) The bad: This is my worst result across all tests.

The good: Losing weight is likely my highest ROI health endeavor.
Q4 Target: 20% or less

Comprehensive Blood Panel

I used InsideTracker to test and analyze 45 biomarkers. Thus far, I am using their algorithm to determine the status of these markers and consulting with my physician regarding outliers.

My Scores

Feb 2023: At Risk: 5; Needs Improvement: 11; Optimized: 34
Apr 2024: At Risk: 3; Needs Improvement: 11; Optimized: 36

The good: My trend in all categories except fitness improved:

Heart health: Needs work → Fair
Metabolism: Fair → Good
Gut health: Fair → Good
Fitness: Optimal → Optimal
Inflammation: Good → Optimal
Endurance: Optimal → Optimal
Recovery: Good → Optimal
Cognition: Good → Optimal
Hormones: Good → Optimal
Sleep: Optimal → Optimal

The bad: While I definitely improved my cholesterol (and ApoB) numbers, cardiovascular health remains my biggest risk factor and still needs work.

Q4 Target: Bring HbA1c, ApoB, and SHBG to optimal levels.

Sleep and Activity Tracking

I use the Oura ring to track my sleep and activity — the scores range from 0 to 100.

My Scores

Apr 2023 3-mo average: 79 sleep, 79 readiness, 74 activity
Apr 2024 3-mo average: 65 sleep, 74 readiness, 82 activity

Night HRV

Apr 2023: 49
Apr 2024: 42

The good: My activity score increased.
The bad: Everything else decreased.
Q4 Targets: HRV 45; sleep 80

Summary

My DunedinPace and VO2 Max are stellar; no improvements needed, but I aim to boost my VO2 max as a side effect of losing weight.

My bloodwork is mostly good and improving, but I plan to implement a few targeted interventions.

My Body Fat Percentage and Sleep are poor. This is where I intend to focus most of my efforts.

I’m in the process of developing protocols for the coming months to help achieve these targets.
