White people who condescend me, dismiss my expertise, dismiss my experiences and perspective of the world are not my friends. I’m not an activist or writer for people like you, I’m here for the systemically oppressed and I don’t care about how you feel. The world is centered to cater to YOUR feelings and YOUR perspective. It has no place in my piece, not everything has to cater to your white feelings. This very statement is everything! Instead of reading the piece and reflecting on what is being said, they come in and shame you for feeling how you feel. This again is a reason why Black people and People of Color in general don’t want to have conversations with White people because again, you take the conversation of how we feel and turn it around to make it about your feelings and hurts, again invalidating our experiences. SMH…
