Four incredible weeks come to an end with the official closing day of the first ever Social Sabbatical in Abidjan, Côte D’Ivoire. We achieved great things with our four local organizations, immersed ourselves into a country full of passion and hope, built strong friendships across the globe, and simply spent the most wonderful time together in this epic team. None of us will ever be the same again when we return home from this life changing experience. And we can all feel it: It’s quite tough to let go — but we won’t leave without having a blast and we will see each other again somewhere some place.

We all knew this day would eventually come but we never thought it would be arriving this fast. We spent so many days here in Côte D’Ivoire and feel now very close to the people living here and their passion for the country. We had a great time and soaked…

Coming back from a long weekend in San Pedro we realize that there is not much time left to spend with our organization. Wednesday morning Emanuela and I go to AmazoOn Du Web to discuss communication and show the new templates we created for them and Sourajit stays in the…

It’s Labor Day on first of May, so for the long weekend we have forged plans of seeing more Côte D’Ivoire and making a big road trip to San Pedro in the very south west. The road through the jungle and back country is bumpy and full of obstacles, but there are many beautiful details to discover on our 10 hour trip. Five of us started on this adventure, and we made it safe to the amazing beaches of San Pedro — casualties: two tires, benefits: free bump massage.

Rocks on the coastline are marvelous places to be discovered here. Some of them contain hidden pirate caves, others are transformed to vista and party points overlooking the endless rolling waves on the shores.

Thursday is the big day of the first MeetUp for AmazoOn Du Web. It starts at 3 PM in the afternoon at the headquarter of our organization and is part of our overall strategy we drafted for AmazoOn Du Web in the previous weeks. We want to create new values…

It’s already week three of our immersive journey here in Abidjan, Côte D’Ivoire and I sometimes wonder where all the time went. The mix of busy weeks with our organizations, having beers at the hotel bar, dining out in various places across Abidjan, and travelling at the weekend keeps us…

It’s the weekend again and we left crowded and busy Abidjan to discover new hidden places in Côte D’Ivoire. One of the old colonial mansions of Grand-Bassam (now an UN world heritage site) is our destination this time. We cooked, we laughed, we relaxed and enjoyed two mellow days in…

The second half of week two is full of hands-on practice on project management, funny exercises and role play for practicing communication and alignment, and sharpening the identity of AmazoOn Du Web to make more impact for the future.

We had a nice idea to motivate the volunteers and encourage…

Monday morning — Start of Week 2 of our Social Sabbatical here in Abidjan, Côte D’Ivoire. We actually start preparing and delivering value for our organizations. Things are becoming more clear now but there’s always a good chance for having daily surprises and new insights in this program :-). I…

Being back from this wonderful trip in Assinie, I have difficulties to find words for what we experienced. It touched me very close and I feel happy, whole, creative, relaxed, and deeply gracious for being part of this great team. Those memories of unique moments at the beach will certainly stick.

Also, I do feel quite lazy :-), so i will let the pictures speak in this post:
