One paragraph of background info on the company as an introduction?

Citymapper is a public transit app that displays transport options between any two locations in a supported city, usually with live timing. It integrates mobility instructions conventional modes of transport, like walking, driving and cycling, and includes information and directions for bicycle-sharing, metro, suburban rail, bus, scooter, moped, taxi, and car-sharing in addition to accurate public transport information (where available). It is free of charge to users and can be used on mobile devices (app) or as a website.

The main problems you found when you interviewed users?

During interviews, the main issues that kept appearing were, lack of information being accessible in tickets that is relevant (time zone, change of platform/bay/terminal), the searches easily being erased or not saving, and the ticket not being properly integrated into the operating system.

What is the main problem that you are trying to solve?

The main problem we are trying to solve for the application is the integration of ticket purchases into the citymapper app, which are intuitive and can be easily used and that includes information that is relevant for the user.

How do you plan to solve this problem?

I plan to solve this problem by adding a ticket purchasing option into the route planner for the application. in the ticket, I will add the search information on the ticket as a note, as the user may decide to change times and can be easily edited from the note. Integration into the operating system by adding accessibility features from the Wallet application. Also adding the app a live tracker for information that can be activated in regards to their ticket purchase or any route they want to be notified about.

Share a few key things that you learned throughout this process.

Through this task, I learnt that creating a conversation and directing it towards the topic you need to find information about creates a lot of surprising results albeit quite difficult to manage. Through research and noting what people have had experienced, whether it’s good or bad, assists with problem identification and sometimes it assists in solving the issue. Sometimes the simplest functions (or lack of) really define the experience that a user experiences.
