A Step-by-Step Setup to connect to Real-Debrid using Torrentio
What is Stremio?
Stremio is a free media streaming service that lets you watch movies, shows, and other online content. It’s available on many devices, including computers, mobiles, and TV devices.
Stremio is a one-stop hub for video content aggregation. It allows you to organize and watch video content from various services, including movies, series, live TV, and video channels. The content is aggregated by an addon system providing streams from various sources.
Stremio is available for a wide range of platforms, including Windows, Mac, Linux, and Android. It keeps track of your progress across all your devices.

Step One — Setup a Real-Debrid Account
What is Real-Debrid?
Real-Debrid is a subscription service that allows users to download and stream files from the internet. Real-Debrid acts as a middle-man between users and servers that store media files, such as movies and TV shows. Real-Debrid can download files from torrent sites and file lockers.
Real-Debrid offers four premium plans, which include unlimited downloads and streaming. Plans start at €4 ($4.50) for 15 days of service, and go up to €15 ($16.80) for 180 days of service. Super cheap and paired with Stremio is beats any streaming service out of the water.
- Create an Account with Real-Debrid
Go to https://www.real-debrid.com and setup an account. This you will need to keep track of this account because after the days of service expire for your account you’ll need to renew it.
Unfortunately, there is no auto-renew for their system as of current.
***FAIR WARNING: Real Debrid only allows for streaming through ONE IP ADDRESS SIMULTANEOUSLY at a time. If you are streaming at home through your router, you are only using ONE IP ADDRESS for your whole network of devices, so you’ll be fine. However, if you try to use this setup on a Android device, or take it with you on vacation, you can’t stream at home while streaming on your phone SIMULTANEOUSLY. If it happens your Real-Debrid account may be locked or banned.***
You’ll need to purchase a Premium account with Real-Debrid. It’s reputable company based in France and I’ve never had issue with their payment services. I’d recommend starting off with a 15 day trial to start.
You can always come back and purchase a longer Premium service if you enjoy the service. If you like it, I recommend the 180 day account for $17.17 USD (which averages to be about $0.09/day or $2.86/month).
You can look around in their service site as they keep track of everything that is downloaded into their system for you. They do monitor your IP address so be aware of it but I’ve used their service for almost 5 years and have never had any issue or worries about them having access to my info. Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon all have access to your location as well so. :)
We’ll come back to Real-Debrid further in these instructions.
Step Two — Setup Stremio on a Desktop Computer
- Go to https://www.stremio.com/downloads
- Initial setup requires configuration on a computer. Choose and install the program for either your Windows/Mac/Linux machine.
- When Stremio is installed you’ll need to setup an account with their service as it will act as the account associated with your streaming devices. They offer connecting with Facebook, if you so choose, otherwise you can register with whatever email address you so choose. This will be the primary account you’ll be using for Stremio.
(Unfortunately multiple profiles aren’t supported in Stremio)
4. One registered log into Stremio. The interface looks like below. Click on the Addons on the left sided. At the top click on My Addons. Find “WatchHub” and “Youtube” in the list. Uninstall both apps. The Youtube app doesn’t work well in Stremio and the WatchHub adds confusion when searching for a stream to watch.
5. Click on Community Addons. In the Search field types in “Streaming” and install Streaming Catalogs. This Addon helps organize and filters content in a logical manner.
We’re done with Stremio for the time being and we’ll come back to this in a bit to make sure everything is configured correctly.
Step Three — Configure Torrentio to modify Stremio
What is Torrentio?
Torrentio is a torrent search engine app that allows you to search and download torrents and magnets from various sources. You can use Torrentio to download popular content, including free movies, books, software, and music.
Torrentio is also a Stremio add-on that provides links from various torrent providers. This allows you to stream your favorite content. Torrentio can stream content from torrents on YTS, EZTV, RARBG, 1337x, and several other websites.
Torrentio will reconfigure Stremio by adding it’s own Addon to Stremio so this step will need to be done on the same computer that Stremio is installed. (Any future changes using Torrentio would also need to be done on the same computer that Stremio is installed)
- Go to the following website: https://torrentio.strem.fun/configure
There are several fields in on this page that need to be adjusted and addressed. Once you go through and fill in the info on this site, it will send this info over to Stremio and configure it with the setting you choose.
- The first field is Provider. This box determine which torrent/streaming sites Stremio will look at to get its content. Highlight/Check everything from YTS down to NyaaSi. Leave everything else below NyaaSI unhighlighted/unchecked.
- The second field is Sorting. This section determines the order the streams are presented to you to choose from as you’ll be offered a lot of sites to stream. Choose “By Seeder”.
- The third field is Priority by Foreign Language. If English is your main language, don’t choose anything in this field.
- The fourth field is Exclude Quality/Resolutions. If you have high speed internet, and unlimited bandwidth, don’t check anything. If your speeds are limited, highlight/check everything EXCEPT for 1080p, 720p, Screener, and Cam.
- The fifth field is Max Results. You can skip this field.
- The sixth field is Debrid Provider. Choose Real-Debrid from this box. Where is says ‘Real Debrid API Key’ click on the link in the ‘Find it Here’ field. You’ll be directed back to Real-Debrid website. Copy the Private API Token in the box, come back to the Torrentio website and paste it where it says ‘Real Debrid API’
- The seventh field is Debrid Options.
**VERY IMPORTANT** Choose ONLY the top two options in this box, leave the Show P2P torrent links for cached unchecked.
The reason behind this is because you only want Stremio to offer you content that is passed through Real-Debird first. If this option is not disabled, then Stremio will offer you P2P torrents which could be brought to the attention of your ISP for copyright violations (speaking from experience!). Save yourself the trouble and make sure this option is not turned on!!!d - Now click on the INSTALL. This will prompt you with a box to “Open Stremio” click on it. Go to Stremio program and click on INSTALL.
Now Stremio is configured to pull content through Real-Debrid services to stream the content you want to watch. Give it a try by finding a Movie/Series and on the left side you’ll see a list of available streams that you can choose.
