A quick guide to selling tickets without losing money to Eventbrite

I created an add-on for Facebook Events to allow organizers to sell tickets for their Facebook events without having to go through Eventbrite and lose so much additional revenue to service fees.

The response so far has been nothing short of inspiring! I’m grateful that I was able to help so many people I’ve never met attend and organize events. I wanted to make the tool even easier to use, so I added a few tweaks and so that anyone could use it with just a few clicks.

So here’s a short and sweet guide to how to use my Facebook add-on to sell tickets for your event without paying Eventbrite’s service fees. Please note that this guide assumes that you have already created your event on Facebook.

Step 1) Navigate to Waliko.com and click the “Create Event” button

You’ll be asked how you would like to create your event. Click “Import from Facebook” button. You’ll be asked to paste in the URL of your Facebook event. There’s an example URL format to follow right above the field. Paste in your event URL and press “Continue”.

*you will have to log in. It’s how I can tell which event belongs to who.

Step 2) Build your tickets

In no time flat, your event information has been received and you will be presented with a ticket builder. Add an event flyer or picture to represent your event. Next, build out your tickets as you would for any other event managing service, add or remove tickets as you see fit, and set the prices and release dates. Once you’re satisfied, click “Finished”.

Set an event flyer and build your tickets!

Voila! Your Facebook Event now has a page where your attendees can purchase tickets! The last step: setting up deposits for your tickets!

Step 3) Set up deposit for ticket revenue

You’ve imported your Facebook Event, created tickets, and set prices. All that’s left is to tell the add-on where to deposit the revenue for the sales you generate.

Click your username at the top of the screen, then click “Account Settings”. Scroll to the bottom of the screen, and press the “Connect Bank Account” button. Add your bank account information using our secure form, and submit.

*the button to connect your bank account will not appear until after you have created your event and set up tickets

You’re finished! You can now sell tickets for your Facebook event while saving money by not using Eventbrite or other services! Add the add-on link to your Facebook Event page’s ticket URL section, and attendees can easily purchase tickets from you, letting you pocket up to thousands of extra dollars that would have been sent to Eventbrite.

Questions, feedback, or feature requests? I’d love to hear them! Feel free to reach out to me via email or through the support chat located at the bottom right of my add-on.
