Continuation in photography

This picture by Ash Nayler was taken during her “Continuation of my 365 self portrait project (month 7).” In this shot there is a lot of negative space that is used to add her line of continuation so that your eye comes from the left of the picture to the middle to the right where the model (Herself) is located. Then once the viewers eyes reach the model they stay there a bit due to the position of her arm which you follow back to her face, and from their you are led to wonder what it is the model is looking at. Although the Ash Nayler placed herself oddly close to the edge we can tell it was not a amateur mistake but rather her trying to create intentional discomfort through the photograph.
