every eye sees
all mouths confess
we bought this evil
brought this evil on ourselves
convenience and comfort
then progress and production

and creator-man played God
gifts from sodden Prometheus anew
goo of transposase enzyme poison
not fire but mRNA juice
to loose the monster’s viscera
to be born-again artificial

and we should have known better
should have cared more
but science was a child in a candy store
