Writing an article every day on Medium is a system, not a goal. A system is a set of habits, routines, or processes that you follow consistently to make progress towards a desired outcome. It's the daily action or practice that you commit to, regardless of the immediate results. On the other hand, a goal related to this system could be something like:

- Publish 30 articles on Medium this month

- Reach 1,000 followers on Medium by the end of the year

- Generate $500 per month from Medium articles within 6 months

These are specific, measurable outcomes that you aim to achieve as a result of implementing your system of writing daily. To further illustrate the difference:

- The system is the daily writing habit, the process of researching, outlining, and publishing articles consistently.

- The goal is the desired outcome, such as a certain number of published articles, a target audience size, or a specific income level.

The power of focusing on systems is that it keeps you grounded in the present, committed to the actions you can control. Goals are important for setting direction and measuring progress, but systems are what drive you forward day in and day out.
