Hey Max, I’m not sure. Anything that sticks will need a little more of the market’s perspective. Just thinking about this a little more…

The public knows what an app is because Apple branded that word. Literally there are TV commercials repeating the message — “There’s an app for that.” This stuff doesn’t happen organically. If Facebook (or Apple with iMessage) brands the word bot, I think it could work.

Organically, this stuff is just named after the channel.

I got a call for the dentist, so I booked and appointment for the kid.
I got an email from the dentist, so I booked and appointment for the kid.
The app reminded me about the dentist, so I booked and appointment for the kid.
I got a message from the dentist, so I booked and appointment for the kid.

To answer the question, I think it will be Messaging, Automated Messaging, a Facebook Message etc.

Finally, to put it another way, I guess here is my point… “Chatbots” is an industry term. It won’t work for users.

We’ll see how this all turns out — that’s the great thing about predictions.
