I like the potential, but it’s a little scary. Hard to balance giving control to the user and convenience. Companies always seem to err on convenience and bury the control in the updated ToS.
The baby step towards this is simply the form factor of a conversation. Asking, ‘What’s your email?’ in a conversation is active compared to the passive, ‘Enter Email:’ in a webform. I’ve built a few messenger bots (that are really just landing pages in conversation form) and the response rates are great. http://bit.ly/2fPwwSz
