Five Things Old Programmers Should Remember

I’ve just stepped down from a team lead/management role, in my 40's, to take on an engineering only role, learning Swift and Go along the way (am an iOS Objective-C developer right now) and I could not be more excited.

That being said, a little part of my brain has been doubting how sensible this is. At my age surely I should be embracing management? I know that’s what my parents will say when I tell them.

Thank you making me realise I am not alone in realising that I am never happier than when coding and that the greatest threat to that career path is me (barring ageist companies – which is another concern that we must tackle).

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
