Ukrainian Volleyball Player Yuliya Gerasymova Is America’s Latest Crush
America goes through crushes from time to time. Sometimes, we go through them faster than we can wrap our brains around. But I can’t blame us for our latest crush on Ukrainian volleyball player, Yuliya Gerasymova.
Born in 1989, Yuliya Gerasymova grew up in Odesa, Ukraine. Her volleyball career began when she was 17 when she joined the VK Khimik Yuzhny team. She was on that team until 2015 and then her career started to move up into the bigger leagues. She has won five National Championships and three European Championships.
But it’s as if we have just discovered her. She first became TikTok famous when she caught someone’s eye in the fourth round of the Champions League against Poland’s team in 2022. Yuliya’s fans were excited to see her in the Olympics but sadly, she didn’t make the team. All of their players were younger than 30 as if that’s a rule. But the amazing thing about her is if you don’t talk about her age, you would never know she’s over 30.
