What is Cinema 4D?
Cinema 4D is an all-purpose 3D software made by Maxon. Maxon is located in Germany. Cinema 4D has been around for along time allowing the software to mature into a well rounded stable program. Cinema 4D is very popular for it’s Motion Graphics module called MoGraph. Cinema 4D also called C4D is used extensively in the Product Visualization, Architectural, Medical, Advertising, Film & TV and Game industries.
The current Version is Release 20 or R20. C4D has different types for different prices. There is Broadcast, Prime, Visualize and Studio. Studio has all the modules and is the most expensive.
Cinema 4D has Modeling, Materials, Sculpting, UV Edit, MoGraph, Animation, Bodypaint 3D, Camera, Lighting, Rendering, Character Rigging and Xpresso.
Some of Cinema 4D competitors are Autodesk Maya, Foundry Modo, and Blender.
Some of the new upgrades in R20: Node Based Material Editor, MoGraph Fields, CAD data Import, Volume Modeling and ProRender.
