Witching Hour

I feel strangely numb tonight
The past has crept up

Onto my shoulders
Making me hunch down

Like some animal in total defeat
I know this is not right

Thoughts they deceive
Dormant is the pain

No longer I stand
Into the dust we fall

Narrow minds
Shallow hearts within

Forgiveness no longer an option
Hardened like stone

A life turned over
I feel strangely numb tonight

The world emptied
Cares flickered out

In the dark desert night
Close my eyes, pain dissipates

Then I see her face, once more
