Learn To Spot Potential

It is important that you learn that everybody you meet will have different talents that can be nurtured. If you have the ability to spot potential, you instantly become better able to guide people towards fulfilling their potential, keeping them engaged in their learning while demonstrating progression in the process.

Don’t Put Out Fires

Mistakes will happen at all levels of the organization, so it is important that you recognize the importance of not stepping in to solve minor issues. This will prompt your staff members to resolutions themselves, while also making it more likely that they will learn from their mistakes. Furthermore, by stepping in to solve all problems, you actually end up coaching your staff to bring all of their issues to you.

Listen

Michael Cappy has worked hard to develop his communication and listening skills during his career. By taking the time to listen to the people you’re coaching, you can get a better understanding of the things that motivate them and the areas where they feel they are struggling.
