Utah is divided by belief, but this ancient idea can help us close the gap

The reason Utah is divided has nothing to do with the Church. Utah is a very non-diverse conservative sheltered environment, which is just one subculture the Church is located in. The Church, however, is mainstream. The conflict results in confusing the two. For instance, living in a Salt Lake Suburb that is 90% Mormon and your entire ward lives on your street, it’s easy to be an outcast if you don’t fall into certain cliques. It’s easy to blame the Church for that as well. Fortunately, the solution is applying the counter-cultural Gospel principles of love and acceptance.
