Gita, a wealth of Philosophy explores the concept of Karma. Let’s dive into some of it’s most famous quotes about Karma.

  1. The complexity and intricacies of Karma are very hard to understand. Therefore one should know properly what is karma (action), what is vikarma(forbidden action) and what is akarma (inaction).
  2. Karma does not bind one who has renounced the results of work.
  3. Work done with selfish motives is inferior by far to the selfless service or Karma-yoga. Those who seek to enjoy the fruits of their work are unhappy, because one has no control over the results.

4. In Karma-yoga no effort is ever lost, and there is no harm. Even a little practice of this discipline protects one from great fear of birth and death.

5. Action in Inaction, Inaction in Action

Sometimes it’s not all about acting to resolve problems, sometimes it’s also about waiting, watching, analysing and keeping calm to allow the problems to resolve by themselves. In a society which encourages us to take the necessary steps and actions to solve our challenges, it’s hard to not act at times, but we also need to learn the skill of inaction and when to do this.

6. The person whose mind is always free from attachment, who has subdued the mind and senses, and who is free from desires, attains the supreme perfection of freedom from Karma through renunciation.

7. As the blazing fire reduces wood to ashes, similarly, the fire of Self-knowledge reduces all Karma to ashes.
