Thank you for your article. I live in SF area and found it interesting that the “PC Police” complained about 69% of the tech force being male, then said 36% are white but leave out who the other 33% are. Since I live here and used to be a Group Sales Manager who planned over 600 Team Building events for tech workers, I will tell you that most likely the other 33% of males are from India. If tech companies truly wanted diversity, they would not hire 1/3 of their programmers from India just because they work for less. If they truly wanted more African American women working as programmers then they could fund programs in inner city schools. They are not required to do so and do not have to but the strutting around with their “PC Badges” because they “do no evil” is patently false. It is not as if companies like Google could not find programmers in America but if they hired mostly white men they would be called racists so instead they hire Indian men to appear diverse yet make it a reverse racism situation for a white American to get the same job.
