The problem is not just understanding what we can do, but not believing that anything we do will have real impact or change anything except in tiny symbolic ways. When I give money to a homeless person, am I helping? When I walk instead of drive, do things get better? Against the rhetoric of “it may already be too late to save the planet” everything feels useless or empty. At least, I think that’s the psychic dilemma many face.
