One of the first things I tell the young girls that I’m teaching (usually ranging between 11 and 14):

“I’m sure you know this, Boys are stupid. There are exceptions, but usually boys will be stupid and stay that way til at least 30, so don’t hold your breath. Also they will really only outgrow ‘stupid’ they’re lucky and get good mentorship and work hard. So… focus on your training, school, and when you are older, your career. There are exceptions, just don’t hold your breath.”

I also tell the boys that this is what I teach the girls, followed up with: “You can be an exception, so work hard and apply lessons. I’m not holding my breath either though”
