This is all interesting stuff. Unfortunately trying to blame the election results on hacking is like the DNC blaming Sanders voters. Lack of a strong and inspirational platform from Clinton, competition on the liberal side, and the fact that “change” always wins campaigns over “more of the same” all had impacts. The greatest impact though was gerrymandering. The Republican Party took this tool developed by Democrats and put it to incredibly effective use. That is the most pronounced impactor if the election.
You should also consider that sentiment had a great deal to do with Trump’s win. Like you I turned to technology in 2015 using high end social analytics and data collection software to look at the social sentiment of all of the candidates and by August of 2015 could see a clear path to a primary win for Trump if the RNC didn’t do anything tricky. I saw that same clear path for Sanders, but as we all know, the DNC did what even the Republicans wouldn’t and played dirty pool.
