I Was Not Always An Editor

I was, however, always a reading junkie. The cereal box stereotype fits.

I was born in 1963.

I got my first typewriter as a Christmas present, in 1978. It was a Royal. It was manual. It was used. I loved it.

I started editing in 1991, and I established Michael Edits in 1999.

I think I finally named it “Michael Edits” in 2010. Better late than never.

Between its subscribers, Twitter followers, LinkedIn connections, Facebook fans, and website, MichaelEdits.com reaches over 100,000 authors, entrepreneurs and business professionals every week.

But before I was an editor, I was an author.

I write this mainly to remind myself. As long as I can remember to look at it, I’ll be all set. People ask me at networking events to tell them about my books and I draw a blank because my elevator speech is all about my editing.

Isaac Asimov published over 500 books. How in the world did he remember them all?
