Do you think we are unique?

Are we trying to reinvent the wheel, I wonder?

Is it possible that someone else has already experienced what we’re experiencing?

What if we could learn from them, their failures, successes…their secrets? Would that be helpful?

Perhaps the answer is life stories, or biographies, as they are more commonly known…most ‘big-names’ have written one, and also the not so big…

…shared their challenges, struggles, victories…learning’s from a lifetime of experience…

Most of us start life in pretty much the same place, have similar emotions, needs, desires…it’s our circumstances and experience, what we focus on, that makes us different.

Study other people…

We can learn a lot about our own life by studying other people…think of them as…mentors.

Choose a heroine/hero…start reading, enter into their life. See what makes them tick.

My mentors include the likes of Richard Branson, Steve Jobs, Bill Gates…icons now…but they too started small with a simple idea to be good at something they loved…it grew from there…what do you love?

Time is not a renewable resource…

There hasn’t been a time when our external influences were changing as fast as they are today.

If we can learn from others, so we don’t have to duplicating the same experiences for ourselves, that’s time well spent…in a time when time is our most valuable resource.

Create familiarity…

What others have learned, can begin to reveal things in our own lives that create a common feeling, an insight into familiarity…for myself the lack of familiarity has often held me back.

Conversation with friends is another way of exploring life stories…each others…

If studying life stories help to make the unfamiliar familiar, then we’re on to something.

Want something better…

Our personal journey tends to lead most of us in roughly the same direction…wanting something better.

The question is: Are you ready for it…would you know it, if you saw it?

Don’t fall into the trap of getting ready, to get ready.
