If you could do anything, what would you do?
“If you could do anything, what would you do?”
(Silence)
We were having coffee when my friend asked me that….talk about a conversation stopper.
That’s a big question, I said…followed by another silence filled with coffee shop clatter and crashing…
What really went through my mind was…I’m too busy working on my to-do list, to think about ‘pie-in-the sky’ ideas.
…I hadn’t thought about things like that since I was a kid on roller-skates.
Clichés of materialism…
Living by the adage that ‘everything happens for a reason’, I set my mind to thinking…
…of course, all the usual suspects came to mind…mostly clichés of materialism.
Going for a second coffee, I blurted out that having more time was something I’d like more of…
…that would get my attention…because time, isn’t a renewable resource…is it?
A relic of my past…
Two cups of coffee, and the conversation behind me…I began to think I was becoming a relic of my past…I was motivated to get into action…my mind racing…
Balanced life…
You may have given up on having a more balanced life, as your to-do list spirals out of control…but it doesn’t have to be that way.
New direction…
I was introduced to someone almost a decade ago…it was a meeting that would set me in a new direction…one I’m happily living now.
People can change our lives positively in unexpected ways…you just have to be open, creative…join the dots.
What I really wanted was choice…to do, or not to do…no reason required…
If you’re looking for a better way…a new direction…let’s talk about it.
Check out my home page…let’s have a virtual cup of coffee.
