Excellent article, I would suggest another source of matter for long distance instant travel.

The Dark Matter Drive.

This theoretical drive would allow the folding of space time, and allow multiple light year “jumps” using regions of Dark Matter.

The “ship” (can be any size or shape) gathers either positive or negative dark matter in a shell around the ship like a force field. Then draws the collected dark matter into storage at rear. Once the vessel enters the region of opposite dark matter, because dark matter of different charge can’t exist in the same location, the vessel creates an ejection of dark matter, this creates a FTL expansion, transporting the vessel out of the dark matter zone, into “free space” and closer to the destination.

Of course this is a theoretical drive, but there is enough evidence for such a drive to work, and allow for travel to locations 100’s of light years away.
