“ I’ve had enough experience with Michael James to know that whatever the subject, he will have a very limited knowledge of the basics of the subject & therefore will never offer up valid observations.”
Ah, I remember you, this should be… interesting.
“ That observation holds true in this incident regarding the undersecretary of the USDA, Dr. Sam Clovis’ appointment to the agency by President Donald Trump. Michael Jamesdemands that that person can ‘’handle records and research in Agricultural Systems and Technology, Animal Health and Production, and Animal Products, Plant Health and Production, and Plant Products, Renewable Energy, Natural Resources, and Environment, Food Safety, Nutrition, and Health, Agricultural Economics and Rural Communities, which is WHAT his job entails.” To have a background in economics as well as having a doctorate in public administration is of more value than some unknown & nonexistent individual like what Michael James naively believes should be able to plant rice in Louisiana or corn in Iowa disregarding that the USDA administrates the food stamp program.”
Some observation there John, too bad you don’t know what you’re talking about. Sam Clovis is going to be the Under Secretary for Research, Education, and Economics, that is the undersecretary whose responsibility IS records and research in Agricultural Systems and Technology, Animal Health and Production, and Animal Products, Plant Health and Production, and Plant Products, Renewable Energy, Natural Resources, and Environment, Food Safety, Nutrition, and Health, Agricultural Economics and Rural Communities. A political science degree don’t cut it, an economics background (teaching general economics) ain’t don’t cut it, and a doctorate in public administration (someone who’s never actually publically administered anything) don’t cut it. None of those qualify him to handle and do research on crop pest and diseases or animal diseases, both of which are now HIS responsibility. The Undersecretary for Research, Education, and Economics will also serve as USDA Chief Scientist OCS, since 2008 and the 110th Congress when this office was created with H.R. 6124, is to be a scientists with specialized or significant experience in agricultural research, agricultural education, and agricultural economics. He ain’t specialized in any of those. He doesn’t have any experience in any of those, let alone SIGNIFICANT experience.
The simple fact that you are trying to equate that to a farmer in Iowa who plants corn, or a farmer in Louisiana who plants rice, both of which would also be unqualified for this specific USDA Undersecretary position shows you don’t know what you’re talking about. That you flat out lie and try to claim I believe those would be more valuable shows you got nothing. You further proved you don’t know what you’re talking about by bringing up the SNAP program, cause that program may be part of the USDA, but it’s under a DIFFERENT Undersecretary, and Sam Clovis won’t be over it, or have anything to do with it.
“The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)”
“Any thinking person would realize that a person who has a doctorate in public administration is better suited for this job than someone who can plant a straight row of beans in Ohio.”
I do know what SNAP is, and obviously know a little more about its administration than you since I know it’s a different department with a different Undersecretary, just cause you copied and pasted it’s description from Wikipedia doesn’t make it any more relevant cause it has nothing to do with the USDA Undersecretary for Research, Education, and Economics. Any “thinking person” would understand that SNAP is not part of the job of the Undersecretary for Research, Education, and Economics, it is the job of the Undersecretary of Agriculture for Food, Nutrition, and Consumer Services. Even then Clovis wouldn’t necessarily be a good choice, since one of THAT Undersecretaries duties are not just administering SNAP, which his degree would cover, but also to combat obesity and promote better eating and physical activity habits, two things he OBVIOUSLY knows nothing about. I also understand that the Undersecretary for Research, Education, and Economics, who is also the USDA Chief Scientist OCS is supposed to be a a scientists with specialized or significant experience in agricultural research, agricultural education, and agricultural economics. Even a person in Ohio planting beans in a straight row can understand something that simple, though it does seem to be beyond your ability to comprehend. Any “thinking person” wouldn’t think ever that a farmer in Ohio planting beans would be qualified for to be the Undersecretary for Research, Education, and Economics. And only a liar would try to elude that I had claimed that at any point.
“I appears that Michael James also has trouble reading and understanding what he has read when he says,”… maybe go see a doctor and get some valium to calm down, and learn that there is more to this than just you’re one obsession.” which I assume he means the climate change issue where carbon dioxide has nothing to do with anything to do with what the climate does.”
Lol, moron. I posted a small comment, you replied with two raving post about climate change, and you ignore the beginning of my reply where I stated “In all of your two post ravings you didn’t once seem to get that the undersecretary of research, education, and economics is the department that deals with a whole lot more than the ONE area you are so obsessed with”, and then cut out half of a sentence to quote me, “Maybe instead of you being here bitching about other peoples post and how they’re not being constructive you should loosen that tinfoil hat”, just so you could ASSUME. Any person, who post TWO long and hyper post about climate change as a reply to my one simple post is obviously a little worked up, and obsessed with that one issue. You proved that here by focusing on anything EXCEPT what the Undersecretary for Research, Education, and Economics is supposed to do overall and what they are supposed to be, which is a scientists with specialized or significant experience in agricultural research, agricultural education, and agricultural economics. That ain’t a focus on climate science, it’s a focus on AGRICULTURE. That you’re too stupid or dishonest to comprehend any of that is why you had to resort to lies, omissions, and assumptions to push your one issue obsession. Since you completely failed to read or understand what was written it is beyond pathetic that you tried to accuse me of having “trouble” with that.
“It seems that Michael James, for whatever reason, missed this leading head line for this hit piece that was written by a person who wouldn’t know a radish from a sugar beet, Natasha Geiling, about a subject as foreign to her as it is to Michael James.”
I saw the headline, but I’m not obsessed like you are and unlike you I actually read the whole article so I understood that there is more than climate science to this issue. In the FIRST paragraph it discusses how Clovis has no experience or background in “hard sciences, nor any policy experience with food or agriculture”, the second paragraph continues with that.
It is not until the SIXTH paragraph, halfway through the article that it switches over to your obsession topic of climate science. Since I’m not obsessed and worked up over that issue like you are, I was able to look outside the article and see what the Undersecretary for Research, Education, and Economics actual job is, and what they are supposed to be. You are so worked up and obsessed you don’t even understand that SNAP is under a different undersecretary, or that the US Dept of AGRICULTURE'S Undersecretary for Research, Education, and Economics/Chief Scientist primary focus is the science involved with AGRICULTURE as a WHOLE, not climate science. A failure you share with everyone focusing solely on that aspect concerning Sam Clovis.
My point still stands, you are obsessed with one issue, and really need to calm your happy ass down. At this point you proved beyond contestation that you do not understand what the different undersecretaries at the USDA actually do or what their responsibilities are, that you do not understand that the Undersecretary for Research, Education, and Economics/Chief Scientist is supposed to be an actual scientist specialized in Agriculture, that all of those farmers you derisively dismiss are actual agriculture and what they do is an area that the Undersecretary for Research, Education, and Economics/Chief Scientist is supposed to be able to know about and deal with which is why they are supposed to understand and be an agricultural scientist, and finally that you are willing to lie/distort/omit what others write in order to attack them to feed your one issue obsession. You have a great day.
