Get Up and Get It Done: You Can Do Anything

JUST GET UP AND GET IT DONE
In 2017, the average life expectancy for Americans was 78.8 years. Now I don’t know about you, but to me that doesn’t seem like a lot of time. Especially for how much I actually enjoy life now, and for how much I want to accomplish. If you are like me and want to make the most out of your life and achieve your every last dream, then you better start now. Not tomorrow, not in a month, but right now. Every moment that you spend thinking about it, or caring what others think is just time that you are wasting. It is time to put an end to the procrastination. It is time to get up and get it done.
“If you build it, they will come.” This iconic line from Field of Dreams is one of my favorite movie quotes of all time. When I look for motivation in my life, I often think of this quote. Notice how it doesn’t say, “if they come, you will build it,” but rather “if you build it, they will come.” That’s right. Whatever you want in life, you have to be the one to start it. Not anyone else, but you.
We all have dreams in life, and we all want to achieve great things. The difference between those who succeed and those who don’t, is the effort that is being put forth. Those who build it, they are the ones who succeed. Those who wait for others to come first, those are the ones who fail.
If you truly want to achieve your dreams badly enough, you just need to get up and get it done. Screw your fears, screw the excuses, just get up and get it done. No matter the effort it takes, and no matter how long it takes, if you want it badly enough, you will stop at nothing. Every second that is passing from here on out is time that you are never going to get back, and time where you could have been achieving greatness.
Now I know it seems a little cliche, but you actually have to try. Let your actions speak louder than your words. You never know what could have been in your life, unless you actually try. Are you going to fail? Absolutely. You are going to fail, and you are going to fail often. But remember, so has everyone else on this earth. Failure is part of life, failure is part of growth, and failure is part of success.
There are many things that I have failed in my life. No, I am not talking about high school chemistry even though I did actually fail that class. But we learn who we truly are from our greatest failures. We learn what matters to us in life, and we learn how to overcome any obstacle that life throws at us.
All it takes is a start. Once we start actually chasing our dreams, we gain momentum. We gain momentum that will carry over to the following day, the day after that, and the day after that. Trust me, as a person who loves to procrastinate, starting is half of the battle. As soon as you start, you have already overcome the greatest obstacle to achieving greatness.
So enough of the excuses. The time is now. It is time to just get up and get it done. Put forward the effort that you want to see in return. Believe in yourself, follow your dreams, and never give up. You can and will achieve anything that you want to achieve in life. You just simply need to believe, get up, and get it done.
