The extraordinary coverage of Weiner is strongly complemented by the widespread moral outrage over women and headphones, a pressing issue of national concern that thankfully received the full force of punditry yesterday. On a day when we learned that the UN was giving millions of dollars to Assad, or that the democratically elected president of Brazil had been impeached, or that prominent American politicians had formally asked the FBI to investigate their opponents as possible Russian operatives, we are fortunate that the majority of the fifth estate knows that their are more pressing issues to attend to, namely the existence of a blog post described as “one of the most obscenely misguided and generally wrongheaded blog posts ever to grace the World Wide Web.”
